6D20.10 • Interference from Multiple Sources: Different Number of Slits

Photo Shows the Demonstration Used by the University of Texas at Austin.

• Demo Staff: The laser should be shinning through the double slit portion of the slide.

Instructions / Notes:

• A slide with a double slit, triple, then a four and five slit opening is placed on an adjustable stage.
• After showing the diffraction pattern for a double slit, rotate the knob on the adjustable stage to show the patterns for 3, 4 and 5 slits.
