Transmission Line and Antennas: Radiation from a Dipole

Instructions / Notes:

• A dipole antenna receives and detects radiation from a dipole transmitter/generator.

Demo is plugged into a power strip on one of the table legs - which serves as an on/off switch.

• A GE #40, 6.3V, .15A screw mount flashlight bulb connected to the dipole antenna is the detector.

• The apparatus is a museum piece - which means - there is no replacement available.   So, be careful with it.
• Demo Staff: The dipole receiver's antennae each need to be 87 cm long before installing them into the bulb apparatus.

Caution!: High voltages and uninsulated conductors.

Do not touch the transmitter. Turn off the power immediately after use.
