5H30.10 • Forces on Moving Charges: Open CRT

Location: Floor Demos

Instructions / Notes:

• Demonstration consists of an open cathode ray tube and separate strong bar magnet.
• Switch on the the CRT about a minute before you wish to do the demonstration.
• Try approaching from each side and the top of the CRT with the bar magnet.
• Have students predict what will happen when the poles are reversed.
